It was only a few days ago that I wrote about my favorite environmental journalism sites. Seems that I’m in good company, or at least keeping up with the right resources, Inside Philanthropy did a rather lengthy and much more well researched, less opinion piece on Environmental Journalism, more specifically how these news organizations raise funds. The investigation was prompted by a one million dollar grant to Inside Climate News by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association during the 76th Golden Globes.
The Inside Philanthropy article continued with an examination of the many other excellent journalism outfits that are tackling environmental issues and the ways that these organizations are finding money in a world where real news and legit newsrooms are having a difficult time keeping afloat. No surprise many of these newsrooms are not for profit. Besides Inside Climate News the other favored outlet was none other than Grist.
